About Me

Every educator has an origin story and mine is a bit unique.  I started my career at 24 Hour Fitness as a Regional Director managing over 100 Group X Instructors.  Developing talent in the fitness industry lead me to working with Start Caring Wellness, a non-profit organization raising money and awareness for childhood obesity.  Working with youth participating in unique sports as part of their fitness journey, led me to working with Youth Target Foundation.  Here we worked with school districts and collegiate level clay target teams.  We worked to develop, train and lead teams. I have a passion for helping the youth to participate in sports that are not "main stream".  I truly believe there is something for everyone and I think participating in different clubs and teams is vital for a students success, especially in High School.  In 2017, I decided to have a mid-life crisis in the form of becoming a high school teacher. I taught as an ASL teacher in the World Language Department in Northwest ISD and Argyle ISD. My first year I felt like I was literally thrown into the Lions Den.  While I felt confident in my subject matter, I was clueless on how to manage a classroom.  It took me 4 years to finally come up with some techniques and tricks and I felt about 75% confident I could "manage" my classroom.  But I was constantly trying to find workshops and PD to help assist me to be a better manager of my classroom.  I have managed hundreds of people but nothing as challenging as a classroom full of 33 freshman high school students. After my career pivoted to becoming a consultant, teaching the teachers to have effective tools to engage their students immediately.  No practice needed, we all have the ability to make our classrooms a safe, effective place for students to learn.  You will love these professional development workshops, it is the best investment in yourself, students, classroom and school.
